Hi. I’m Moniek. I’ve been a master’s student of the GBP program since 2017. My studies and life in Taiwan have been one of the best things I’ve ever done. Taiwan as a country is very beautiful, nature is incredible and it is very doable to travel through Taiwan. When you’re living in Taipei, you can be out in the beautiful nature in just 30-60 minutes! Taipei itself is very lively. There are so many things to do and to see, the people are very friendly and it’s a very safe city. There’s an unending amount of restaurants that you can go to and special dishes you will have to try. The food in Taiwan is amazing! Also, the metro system in Taipei is the most convenient system I’ve ever experienced. You can go anywhere you want using the metro and it is not expensive at all. Furthermore, if you feel like traveling, flights to Japan, Philippines, Korea, Thailand or China are pretty short and cheap! It’s a perfect destination for traveling around. Studies in Taiwan are very fun. You’re gonna have classmates from all over the world. You can choose the classes that you’re interested in and you can first try them out before you actually make the decision of taking them as a course. There are many options for classes and if you ever don’t understand something, there’s a whole team that is there to help you. Starting off I didn’t speak any Chinese and the language barrier is not at all a problem.
